Matthew Stephens

Matthew Stephens is research librarian at the Caroline Simpson Library & Research Collection, Sydney Living Museums. He was awarded a PhD, in 2013, at the University of New South Wales for his dissertation: ‘The Australian Museum Library: its Formation, Function and Scientific Contribution, 1836–1917’.  Matthew has a strong interest in the history of private and institutional libraries in New South Wales and the care and communication of historical book collections more generally.
